Static-X Cover - Push It - No Vocals (yet)

I made this today in about 2 1/2 hours. I didn't add any vocals because I'm seriously out of practice... Maybe some other time. But for now, please listen to this.



I re-mixed this a bit and changed the drum sounds. The sounds I used in the other mix sounded way too computerized. These ones sound a lot better. Overall, I think the whole thing sounds better here. I also added some synth parts. Nothing fancy.

Sounds good. Guitars are annoying me a little with the tone, sounds a bit manufactured in the grizzle of them but still nice all the same.
Drums are less computerised in the 2nd version, I'd try and add in some tom rolls as this is what the drums seem to be lacking. If you can get nice tom rolls that sound natural then your on to a winner.

The cymbals don't sound part of the drums, this is common when using drum samples as you do not have the whole kit in the OHs for that together sound. You did use samples yeah? and not a programme that uses the OH mix in the drums?

To mask the cymbals sounding like they have been stuck in over the drums try bringing the volume of them down a little and add some reverb to them.

real meat to this mix....I dunno if this is a cover but it sounds great...hate the drums but thats the style the guitars rock tho'!
