Static occurs with fx

Does anyone know how to stop the crackling when I add fx to tracks on A.A 3.0??

Does it have to do with my computers power??

The recording hardware?

Or the software??

I use m-audio fast track pro, presonus tube pre, akg c3000b mic, and yamaha h350 monitors

my laptop:
intel t2080 @ 1.73GHz
windows vista
2gb RAM

hmmm could be a problem with vista I hear its really no good for recording.

Your computer seems to be fast enough to run plug ins so I dont think that is the problem.

It wouldnt be the recording hardware if the tracks you record sound good before you put the effects on.

Now the last one. Software. My guess is that there is probably a conflict with something with your computer and the program. Try using another program to add effects and see if you hear the crackling.
