Starbucks and PBJ before singing

Had a PB&J sandwich about an hour before practicing and Starbucks. That combo had me struggling with singing this afternoon. Trouble with breath control and bloated feeling. It was productive in that I got the workout I wanted but I didn't have as much fun so I can't be doing that anymore.

Minimum 2-3 hours before singing after eating and avoid the coffee - especially the strong stuff.

I've always found that chololate is the undoing of my voice. Sometimes I'm at a gig and feel a bit hungry, and before I know it I've stuffed a chocolate bar down my gullet, then spend forty minutes a-hem-ing my way though the next set.

Coffee seems to help me. But I can see how PB&J could be one's undoing.

Problem is, I'm always hungry, and I'm also always singing. So the two tend to collide within my daily schedule.

I always find that after having a coffee or tea my singing sounds better. My voice seems to open up more.
Might have something to do with the caffeine or the temp.

Lay off the MARY JUANA:spank:

PB and singing is like sex and sandpaper:eek:

I can't believe we're even discussing PBJ... I'm canadian so I'd probably stop at Tim Hortons twice on the way to a local show, coffee has never been a problem for me though they say caffeine is bad for the voice. But if I was feeling like I was coming down with something and thought I could use some help, I'd swap an XL Honey Lemon Tea for regular coffee. Amazing results.

Hey ido....It may be the cream in the coffee! Just man up and don't be a girlie and drink it black. :D

Or just wash it all down with a few shots of wild turkey ....but I don't condone drinking. :drunk: :spank:

Peanut butter can take hours to digest.
