Does anyone know if Adobe is going to implement Dolby Digital or DTS into their next version of Audition? I have messed around with program that will do surround but they all seem to be overly complex for someone who just wants to import a few mono tracks and place them in different places around the surround field....or does anyone know of a good program that will allow DD or DTS output? I sampled nuendo 2.0 and it was a disaster. I imported the tracks and when i tried to downmix it gave me some garbage about left and right locators!?!?? I finally figured out how to get past it only to get another error...anyways...nowhere near the simplicity I have come to know and love about cooledit/audition...

I doubt it. What you're talking about is an encoder. They cost lots. The cheapest one I think is about $500 for a Dolby Digital version.

What I think they should do is implement a demo/trial version of SurCode Minnetonka encoder like Adobe Premiere Video Editing software has. It gives you 3 trials before you have to buy. This way you can try before you buy and get a taste of the software.

A program called BeSweet might do what you want encoding wise and it's free.
