Standard I/O or USB for MIDI?

I'm trying to decide on a soundcard right now. If I were to get a Delta 66, I'd end up using USB because there's no MIDI I/O. Is one better than the other?

I could get an audiophile 192 or Emu 0404 if I wanted the MIDI I/O. I'm just not sure which option I should go with. I like the Delta 66 because of the extra TRS inputs, but I'm open to suggestions.

Also, if I went the USB route, woud I just buy a USB MIDI keyboard? Or is there some other interface I would need?

THANKS!

if you went the USB route you can just buy a midi controller. i have the m-audio radium49 and i works great. it works fine with reason and cubase. its nice to not need any other hardware too. i can just take my powerbook and midi controller anywhere i want

I use both, and can't really say that I see a performance difference between the two. I would think that at this point a good USB controller will be just fine for you. I like the Delta cards personally. If you don't need S/PDIF I/O, consider the Delta 44 (It is identical to the 66 otherwise, and a bit cheaper).
