hungovermorning

Dr. Caveman.
I have a Tascam 688 that I want to be mixing directly to CD (I like mixing with that and my m-312 instead of on the computer, just a preference). Anyways, what do the wise gurus on this board recommend for a good standalone CD recorder?

Pioneer PDR units were available.
I have my broken one on ebay now, it was great for a long time, many years.

Its got some disc error now so I posted it incase someone needed parts, or wanted to have the board changed out.

There are some on Ebay search Pioneer PDR.

IMO, I think with computers and even laptops getting so cheap, standalone CDR's are becoming obsolete.

Alesis Masterlink is highly rated and I came close to getting one,
but now the HR standalones have CDR too.. so for example I got a Tascam2488 that has alot of the Masterlink features such as Compression, Edit, CD-R Premaster/master.... and alot more. for $1000 approx.

I think the Masterlink would be good if much cheaper these days, of course you can get a pc that has much more to it than just CDR

...but you stated you don't want a pc.

good luck. yeah I miss my PDR555, it was so user friendly.
