Hi all,

Need some advice in purchasing a good rack mount CD burner/Recorder. I had ordered the HHB CDR882, only to just be told that it is no longer available. I need to order a suitible replacement ASAP.

Anyone out there able to suggest something similar? I liked this unit because you could burn to BOTH CD's simultaneously, plus HHB is known for good quality gear.
Still not sure what happened to it. Some people told me it was just out of stock, while other places said it was discontinued due to some design flaws.

THANKS!

You should buy a computer...I think those animals are all extinct.

Weird $300 the cheapest...Ive seen some that will do 4 at a time for not much more than that:rolleyes:

You cant throw a dead cat without hitting a DVD recorder under $100...why is a cd recorder so expensive?

Who told you the 882 is not available, it's still on the web site: http://www.hhb.co.uk/hhb/uk/index.asp

it's only been out for less than a year.

The reason people want stand alone CD recorders is that you don't have to stuff around with a computer to burn a CD, you can record live at an event to CD, you get CD's with a low error rate, you record direct to CD real time through good converters from analog.

Cheers

Alan.

Alan,

AMEN!! Yesterday I got 2 rackmount units, a Tascam CD-RW2000 and a Tascam CD-RW700, plus some other stuff for $40.00 from a radio station that was moving their operations. I love it when other people "upgrade" their technology.
