Any suggestions on a stage tuner? And is there a stage tuner that has different settings... I know the cheap Dan-o-lectro doesn't let you change anything.

the boss tu-2 is a great tuner but I think the Korg stage tuner is more accurate. + peterson is now making a pedal tuner as well. I have all thre but I use my korg most often.

TU-2 here. Plus it can power up to five other pedals if you buy the power supply and the other daisychain cable. Flawless tuner for sure!!!!

Boss.

The TU-2 is awesome.. but make sure you get the power supply. The thing eats batteries like no joke.

i use a boss as tu-2 aswell the only draw back is that it sucks a tiny bit of tone when in bypass. I you have a true bypass looper like I have. You can get rid of that problem. The tuners functionality is awesome.

I put it first in the chain so, what you hear is what you get. I've never encountered this problem before. I'll pay closer attention and post what I find out.

The stobostomp is one kick@ss tuner. Way more accurate than a TU-2 and it is true bypass as well.....plus it looks really cool on your pedal board too!

True

Hard to believe you can get more accurate than a440, The boss is the boss

When it is off, the signal passes through no circuitry, leaving no more sonic imprint than a patch cable. For some reason (I think to avoid pops during switching) the majority of pedals have a little buffer or some such that the signal always passes through, usually with a signature that can be detected by the discerning ear.

I use the strobostomp. Great tuner.

I believe the buffer is a cheaper bypass circuit for the manufacture. DPDT or 3PDT pushbutton switches are more expensive and take up realistate in the pedal enclosure.

Well, the TU-2 isn't THAT noticable or I would've noticed it. Boss is a stompbpx staple and if you can't be happy with a TU-2, you're a wicked gear snob. :D

Yup, TU2. Great tuner. The best part is that it works. None of this skipping around can't detect the note crap you get with cheapo tuners.

I chose the Boss over the Korg simply because it took up less pedalboard real estate in my BCB-60, but they're both excellent pieces of kit. They seem pricey at first, but you only have to gig with one once to realise that every penny's been well-spent.

Still want a Strobostomp, though...

Amen. I think some of my first guitar gigs I played I was using some crappy handheld tuner... I was always out of tune, and it was such a hassle to use. I think I bought some lame-o Danelectro tuner to "fix" the situation, and that might have even been worse. I broke down and paid the 85 bucks for the TU-2 and it's been nothing but awesome.

Now I'm considering an ampless setup, running everything through the Line6 Pod with a Floorboard...maybe. I probably would just use the Pod's tuner at that point... it would be hard for me to sell the TU2 though.

Oh yes,BIG TIME. The boss TU-2 accuracy at best is +/- 3 cents, the Strobostomp accuracy is +/- 0.1 cent. Try doing a setup with the Boss then do a setup with the Petersen, the differences will be very apparent. I used to use a needle tuner and could never quite get in tune on stage which really bummed me out, now with the Strobostomp I'm in very good tuning, no problems.
