One more tune before I had off to Gritty McDuff's with the girls for some green beer.

Outstanding.

It sounds like the high E string might need a little taming if you wanna get really picky. I mean realllly picky.

Beautiful stuff! Gorgeous vocals!

Blues, rock, country..

...and celtic too.

1.5 to boot, eh?

Is there anything you don't do well?:D

I love Irish music.... This is absolutely beautiful..... Your voice sounds so rich...

I'm on my 8th listen..This is so awesome....

this was groovy man... the only thing I would change would be to live mic the fingerpicking git instead of running direct... (I just dig a "live" acoustic sound)

Good deal though... geez... 1.5 hours...??? don't you ever make mistakes?!?!? :p

WATYF

Dude...that's freakin' awesome. YOU SUCK :p :D.

Why in the hell aren't you down here recording? I can totally here this roll in somewhere in the middle of an album as one of those "man that was interesting track" type of songs. Nicely done! This has to be a keeper.

1.5 hours huh... YOU SUCK ;) :D:D

(jealous) :D

*edit*

Just listening more - I hear Gordon Lightfoot hiding in your throat somewhere :D

I did a 2.0 St. Pattys tune and it didnt come out 1/10 as good.....

maybe i need another beer.....:D

well done....very cool rendition....and all the sounds are just sweeeeett......

Could I park your car for ya Sir?
Very refined.. loved the strings too.
That would be a great tune to bring the backgrounds down and drop a spot on a stool for a mood transition in show.

Aw man, this is awesome! I love this Irish tune. Crawdad, I would love to hear your rendition of "Lily of the West" (another, albeit more obscure Irish tune) made famous by The Chieftains.

Hey thanks everybody for listening. Just wanted to do something for St. Pats and I do love Irish music. This was a last minute idea today, but one of my favorite songs, celtic or otherwise.

Yeah, I DI'd the acoustic fingerpick guitar ( I didn;t have time or space to set up twin mics and stands) but I did mic the fill guitar and I sang and played the vocal/guitar take live. The string is a violin patch on the Motif.

Anyway, you homewreckers are the best. Hope you steered clear of the green beer and didn't have too many drops o' the pure tonight!

sounds great crawdad! always does. i agree with watyf on the acoustic. your vocals sound pretty damn good. i don't know why but they actually sound more present than usual on this.

Almost forgot. What mic did you use to record the vocals on this tune and "blow them away"?

Did you use very much compression?

Thanks Crawdad.

I used the MXL V93, Kramer. When I tracked, I used no compression or EQ whatsoever, but I put a compressor on the vocal channel in the mix afterwards. No EQ on the voice or guitars, but I did roll a bit off from 40htzs down and did a little parametric dip at around 250 on the overall mix for this tune. I used no EQ whatsoever on Blow Them Away.

Thanks again man.

Kramer
