Bring Back Transfat!
I was going to buy an Omni Studio which consists of the Delta 66 and the breakout box with 6ins/outs and two pres but no midi.

Then I started hearing about this C-Port with 10 I/O and midi. I don't know if the converters are any better than the M-Audio unit but the guy at PCrecording put me over the edge with his rave review.

Musician's Friend honored the $399 price that CD software out of WA was quoting.

Yes Im wondering about this Unit aswell and how does the
C-Port Compare to the Delta 1010 QUALITY Wise?

i would pick the Delta 1010lt over that unit anyday.....

why?

the cport sounds great. it comes close to the delta 1010 recording wise. it sounds great, and for the price its hard to beat

delta 1010lt has probably all of the same features, at least, and costs less.....and its a Delta.....

you can get the 1010lt for $329....

the 1010 has better converters and better preamps.......

oooh So the Delta 1010 Does have a Pre-amps? Im not talking bout the Delta 1010LT but the regular Delta 1010.

yea have u actually tried both Units I mean Cuz if the Delta 1010 Doesn't have a Pre-amp I may just consider this C-port I'm hearing some really nice thing about it

the 1010lt has the preamps...not the 1010......

no ihavent tried both...i havent tried either...as a matter of fact, the only soundcard ive ever heard is the Soundblaster I have......i just felt like talking shit.....

You weren't being attacked Deputy, just asked to qualify your opinion.
Folks 'round these parts value your opinion, but sometimes wanna know how you arrive at them.
You know that.

Now, go back to the Sherrif's office an' check on Hix.
If he aint sober yet, just shoot 'im. No sense in spendin' money the town aint got to feed his cranky ass. :D

have you ever even tried the cport's preamps... i doubt it. the delta 1010lt's preamps are the same as the omni, and the cports pres do sound better then the omni's

I have had the c-port for about 9 months. The onboard pres are"prosumer" quality only, like all the mid-priced 24 bit cards, useable if you don't crank them all the way up.All things considered,it is a good sounding card and features for the money.

c9 my friend, we all can have an opinion......

yes the 1010lt has the same preamp as the Omni, which is basically the Delta DMP2 preamp circuitry......

so all joking aside, i know the DMP2 preamp well...i live with one......i heard the c-ports preamps, admittedly not in the best listening environment, but it doesnt stack up to the DMP2.....i think even the $79 Midiman Audio Buddy preamps compete with the c port.......

id be curious to see what other c port users have to say about the preamps and if THEY actually have tried both....

grip,

i luv ya bud, but i can tell ya now, i dont feel a need to qualify my opinion....anyone can take my advice or leave it and thats all well and good.....

well i had a tlm103 and a few other mics on the cport's pres...are they great...no, are they good enough yes. truth be told, i had a slight better quality out of the art mp studio tube preamp. its only $100. i've only used the omni's pres once and it was a bad experience. i think either way you go... the cport or the 1010lt you will get good recordings. i use a regular delta 1010

so your saying a $100 preamp is better than the c ports.....i also caught in another thread someone saying the Audio Buddy has better pres than the c port.....meanwhile I and many others will tell ya the DMP2 based preamps are better than Mackie XDR preamps....hmmm......
