SR-18 Drum Machine - Shut off Bass Line

Hello folks,

Long time picker, 40 years later I have my first drum machine. Doing okay putting patterns together, but I have one problem that I can't find in the manual or poking through the buttons.. How in the world do I shut off the bass line? I pushed the setup button and found something that said Bass something or other on the menu, turned the dial until it said off.. But no deals.. Still had the bass line running along with the pattern.

I like my human bass player better, when I say hold up for a bit, he stops playing.. For the most part..

Hi,
I cant remember exactly, but it definitely either, hold down the button that says Bass, and then while holding press mute.
Or hold down mute and press bass.
Its one or the other.
