Hi,

I know that similar post was stated before, but i think this case is different,so.
I would like to split guitar signal during recording process to get,dry guitar on recording track and processed on monitors(headphones).
I am using Pod xt live connected to Alesis i02 usb, monitors are connected to sound card,Cubase 5 DAW
Basicly,it could be a lot of better to hear exactly what i am recording when i have heavy distortion in use,but get dry-unprocessed guitar in track and after switching between amps using for example Pod Farm plug in and create final sound after.
I have seen something similar but with Sonar 7 as a presentation on Youtube:

I have tried to apply this, but it is not working.
I hope to find some help with You gays.

Thanx

Does your pod have 2 tone outputs on the back like the x3? Try programming your POD to send the tone 2 dry and tone 1 processed to your mixer at the same time. I don't know if your mixer can multi track. If not when tracking you may have to pan the two signals hard left/right.

And if the pod doesn't have a dry output, put a tuner pedal or something in front of it that will buffer, and split the pedal's output with a Y cable.

Thanx for reply:)

Pod xt live has no dry output ,so i have done it like that:

So,i connected 1/4" jack splitter into guitar, one cable is going to pod xt live-so i have processed sound-and is connected to left channel is Alesis io2,second cable is going stright to right soundcard channel-dry signal.
Now i set up cubase, two mono channels, one left input-processed,second right input-dry guitar and record them simultaneously.
I know that in this set up DI active box will improve sound quality, but at least i have starting point:)
One disadvantage is i hear dry and processed sound in the same time,or i maybe did not find right way to turn one down.
I am exploring it now...

I use a Morley A/B splitter just for that purpose.
Channel a to guitarist trashy distorted amp, Channel B direct to my interface.
Added bonus, turn off the signal to channel A when he isn't paying attention.
