Sorry for dumbass question
Say I want to split a signal coming from a microphone (for live recording). One end going to the mixing board, another to my recorder. I know simple splitting can be done by just wiring a second microphone cable to the first one.
But now, phantom power. I would love to add some ambience microphones which wil not go through the front mixer but require phantom. The pre's I want to use are of the "all or nothing at all"-phantom-type
. Problem rising there is that the other condensors the front-mixer is using already had phantom and those mic's will also pass my pre's.
What would be the best thing to do ? Simply ask the FOH mixer to turn of his phantom and only use mine ?
TIA and happy holidays everybody,
Herwig
