DOS - Dirty Operating System. It actually comes from it's original name: Q-DOS, which simply stood for Quick n' Dirty Operating System. Quite impressive to build world domination based on that.

ADA - Another D*mn Acronym

At work, I feel real bad for new people coming onto our project because we use so many acronyms, that it sounds like someone is speaking another language. The best is when someone uses an acronym, is asked what it means, and doesn't know! :)
