Hi-jetting some high crackle from an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96-going into
an Ark 24.
I've been told that a good quality RCA cable will suffuce and indeed when I take SPIDF out of my mic pre-its jitter/crackle free---?

Any recs on good SPIDF cable? would that solve my problem?

And or:anyone have this problem with their 24/96??

Thanks.

You can NOT use any old RCA cable. The kind used to patch stereo equipment together will NOT do. You have to a have a video grade 75 ohm coax cable terminated with RCA connectors. Also things to check for are sample rate settings on both the sending unit and reciever have to match as should bit depth. Also the recieving unit has to be the slave and the sending unit is always the clock master.

Hosa S/PDIF cables are fine. And cheap.

And blue.

And yeah, make sure you're only running one master clock...

yes thanks my sample settings are right.

I'll check out a abonafide SPIDF.

I found the problem is some sort of clipping running my guitar
direct into an audiophile 24/96-impedance mismatch?
Ill try a pre in front.
