I bought a lapop with an AMD Turion 64 in it. Papers say 2.0 GHz System info says 750-ish MHz. I know AMDs are flexible on their speeds but isn't this a bit sick?

Most laptops will run slower if they don't need to run at top speed, or if on the battery, and not plugged in.djhead said:

check your power management under the control pannel. set it for desktop (if i remember correctly) that should do the trick for you. ofcourse it would be wise not to use that setting when you are running off of battery.

dont worry the amd power managment is really good, when you need the speed the cpu will run it
