Spectral Frequency displays

I am using adobe audition 2.0 and I have no understanding of what the spectral display is or does or how to read it, the frequency analysis as well, is anyone willing to give a few minutes of time to explain how to use these tools? thanks
 
Hey Sacred,

I may not be a 100% correct but if i remember correctly the spectral analysis will show you the spatial aspects of a recording. Ie: If something is louder or panned more to the left or right.

As for the frequency analysis, that is great when you are mixing tracks and want to see what frequencies you may want to cut or boost. This analysis simply shows you what frequencies are present in the recording, the different colors show you different frequencies. Not much more to it other than that.
