I think they are "better than average". It depends on the model, but overall they are better than Ibanez, Yamaha, and Fender. Yet not AS good as Modulus, Lakland, Zon, or Alembic. Good for the money and about as good as you are likely to come across any at any local gig. My 2 pennies.

Damned if I do
My best friend LOVES his Spector (even signed by Phil on the headstock). I've played it a few times and it has really nice action. My friend ran his through a Mesa Boogie Bass 400+ into an SVT cab and it sounded great.
