Hi everyone, I havent been here in a while but I need your help on something wierd. If I hook up a cd player through my vs 880ex and not touch anything like eq,...just play a song from a commercial cd to the speakers (ds90's) ,...I can crank the music up and even add some eq (more bass) I then look closely at the woofers they barely move in and out, hope you know what I mean. Speaker woofers move in and out when playing loud or music with lots of bass. Well any way, if I play one of my home made tune through the speakers,...the woofers move in and out so much that they look as if they will fall out of the cabinets. I tried lowering my bass eq and even the volume but now I can't hear cause the volume is so low. What I'm saying is what's the trick to be able to turn up the volume and not have so much movement in my woofers. Some music store guy once said....it's all in the compression and how you use it. Well that tells me alot! He said something about the commercial cd when played the woofers are in the outward position all ready so you don't see movement, just a bit at very loud volumes,..where as when e made stuff, the speaker react differant because of the "live" instuments that are being put the the speakers so you have to know how to controle the compression in yopu mix. Okay guy's now help me out on this one. I've recorded many songs and they all move my woofers to much...like I said before I have to knock down the bass and volume to solve the problem but then the song isn't loud enough to enjoy. Okay I said enough,..I think you guy's know what I'm talking about here,..is it my comp or what. No!! it's not the speakers...their fine cause i've had the same problem weith my alesis m1 actives and my buddies jbl's. Well thank you to all and hope you can give me some advice on this topic. Thanks again.
