Hello what cable would I use to hook up an outboard effect spdif out into my delta 66? Do I just use an rca or is there special cables? Thanks

Video quality sheilded RCAs would be best if it's a run over a few feet but any RCA cable will do the job.

I wouldn't necessarily suggest using standard coaxial cable for S/PDIF runs. S/PDIF is best trasfered via 75ohm digital cable. Apogee makes great digital cables. Simply using a coaxial cable may work but can be susceptable to jitter...which you don't want I'm pretty sure.
Use 75ohm digital cable.

cheers

Standard TV coax cable IS 75 Ohm, and the cable does not really care what is going down it. If it passes the cable it is AN ANALOG SIGNAL. It may represent digital data, but it is an analog signal.

I'm not arguing the fact of....... "If it passes the cable it is AN ANALOG SIGNAL. It may represent digital data, but it is an analog signal."

Remember I'm talking about a digital cable here. It's a single conductor, so it's either carrying a one or a zero at any given point in time. Whether it's carrying audio data at X hHz or just a timing signal at X kHz makes no difference-- it needs to be sending a CLEAN signal at X kHz all the time.

spend the $20 and buy a real S/PDIF cable.

good luck
