Hello,
I really need the capability to record digital into Sonar. However, that option disappeared from the track menu. In Options/Audio/Drivers, it is no longer there either. I reloaded Sonar last night, and "SPDIF Record" was there again. But, this morning it wasn't. I tried reloading it for a third time, but it didn't show up. I even unplugged my SB Live to see if that was interfering. Anyway, any ideas will be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Stan

Maybe your SBLive mixer software is interfering(?)

I record through my spdif input all the time and I know I can't get a signal unless it is set up on the SB mixer panel to record.

Tried that already. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Seems like i am having the same problem!

I recently bought an audiophile 2496, and with my j-station i was gonna record into the s/pdif in. It was working fine the first time, but after i shut down nd started back up again the next day, s/pdif was gone. My soundcard is registering that something is coming through the s/pdif (the monitor reads it) and i have s/pdif turned on.

My guess is it's somehting to do with Cakewalk (Guitar tracks here).

Anyone else found a solution?

Cakewalk wrote back(good support) and mentioned that echo cards (yours as well?) need WDM drivers to function well with Cakewalk. They mentioned going echo's site and downloading the drivers. However, they didn't mention that to get WDM drivers you also have to be running Windows 2000 or XP. I think that's right. Anyway, I purchased XP, and all is well. Got my digital ins plus ridiculously low latency(1-3 mS @48KHz). Best $100 I ever spent.
