Suck 'em and see!
ok, I'm not a newbie to recording but I am to SPDIF stuff.

I have a Delta 1010 but have only ever utilised the 8ins/outs on the breakout box. Would it be possible with say a Behringer V Amp Pro and a Bass amp pro to conect both these units to the SPDIF connectors to record guitar and bass digitaly while using the 8lns/outs on the breakout box to record drums and vocals?

I don't understand how the two SPDIF connectors work on the Delta card. Are they IN left&right and OUT left&right, or Left in&out, Right in&out?

If each of the two conectors is IN&OUT for only one side of the left right stereo signal then in theory I should be able to record with the V Amp pro on the left chanel and the Bass Amp Pro on the right?

Anyone tried and tested this method? thanks,

Alec.

With SP/DIF, the left and right channels run digitally on the same lead - and thus into (or out of) the same single RCA-like connector.

So on your sound card, one of the SP/DIF connectors is most likely an output, and the other an input.
