spdif into mac mini

question about going spdif digital into a mac mini...

well, the spdif input on the mac mini is an optical mini-jack... would there be a sound quality risk if I were to use an adapter on the cable to fit the macs digital input?

Should be fine as long as you aren't running a 15 meter long cable, using a cable with a dirty/unpolished end, or something else similarly ridiculous.
