spdif input for guitar

my pod pro has spdif signal to my firewire 410 which i use -can anyone say how valuable this is or is analogue signal just as good (there are a lot of volume issues when using spdif) funny work arounds !

Well, the analog signal can't be quite as good because it gets converted to analog first, losing a little something in the process, and then re-digitized coming into the soundcard. The whole point of the S/PDIF port is to keep it entirely in the digital domain as long as possible.

That said, I bet the difference is rather subtle.
