SPDIF Cable

I'm having a problem with an spdif connection from an effects processor to a creative audigy card. It used to work with my old spdif cable but i thought it may be the cable so i bought a PCM digital audio cable from radio shack but no luck. My question...is spdif and pcm digital cable the same thing?

PCM is a completely different protocol from SPDIF.......

S/PDIF uses a 75 ohm video grade cable. If you are using that and still have a problem, look elsewhere. Do you have your clock settings correct?

I'm not even sure what the clock settings are unfortunately, can you give me a brief explanation?
