Sorry, guys and gals, I'm sure this has been covered, but I tried doing a search and couldn't pull up diddly. Is the only difference between these two mikes the extra patterns in the T3?

Thanks.

Also, when you search for something with less than 3-letters... use the * key. For example... T3*

This is from doing a quickie voice-thru-headphones test at Summer NAMM...

I thought the main difference in cardioid mode was that the T3 seemed to have a little more top end – not much more, just a smidgen. There was a Neumann U87 set up for comparison and to me it sounded just like the T1.

My suggestion is, if you can do without selectable patterns, save your $ and go for the T1. Otherwise get the T3.

The T3 is a Multi Patern, Omni, Cardioid, Figure Eight. It actually has 9 selectable Patterns on the Power Supply. It has a Dual 1" 6um Mylar Capsul

The TB1 is a Fixed Cardioid, with a Single 1" 3 Micron Mylar Capsul

so the TB1 actually has the (technically) better (or at least more sensitive) capsule? that's quite interesting...

...just like the B1 and B3.

i think you really should try out each mic to see what you think. as always ymmv but i've been enamored with the c1 (like it on certain male vocals) and the b1 (like it on acoustic instruments and guitar amps) but no their tube cousins.
