Suck 'em and see!
I posted this in the newbie forum cause I wasn't sure where it should fit.........

I have a Delta 1010 but have only ever utilised the 8ins/outs on the breakout box. Would it be possible with say a Behringer V Amp Pro and a Bass amp pro to conect both these units to the SPDIF connectors to record guitar and bass digitaly while using the 8lns/outs on the breakout box to record drums and vocals?

I don't understand how the two SPDIF connectors work on the Delta card. Are they IN left&right and OUT left&right, or Left in&out, Right in&out?

If each of the two conectors is IN&OUT for only one side of the left right stereo signal then in theory I should be able to record with the V Amp pro on the left chanel and the Bass Amp Pro on the right?

Anyone tried and tested this method? thanks,

Alec.

S/PDIF is stereo or dual mono in one direction only so no dice my friend. You'd need another device to get the two different signals routed properly on the S/PDIF line (something like a two channel mic pre with S/PDIF outputs).

That's basicaly what I had figured, just wanted to clarify.

That would still give me 6 chanels of dums, and a scratch vocal and the Bass DIed and then the SP/DIF for the VAmp Pro for guitar.

Could I link a Delta 66 with my 1010 giving me 12 line and 2 stereo SP/DIF inputs? I thought I read somewhere that the Delta cards didn't sync properly and you had to link them with the SP/DIF inputs but can't remember if this was an XP driver issue?

I'm running Cubase VST 32 in Win98 SE
