Howdy, all. I'm looking into the BOSS SP-505 as something to use for playing pre-recorded (mainly ACID) loops as backing tracks when we play live. Any suggestions as to whether this is a good unit for this kind of application (or just in general)?
I tried a Korg ES-1, but the internal memory was too small. The 505 apparently goes directly from the SmartCard, solving that issue, but I'm wondering how it is for tying loops together into songs... For example, one of our songs has the same loop in a couple different places -- once very soft, once pretty loud. Can I control the volume of a single loop in a song or would I need to resample the loop at a lower volume and essentially have the same loop in there twice...?
Anyway, please let me know any thoughts or opinions on this unit before I dive in completely. Thanks!
