This is a great mixer with awsome clear pre-amps. This is the little brother to the Topaz 32-8 which Harvey Gerst uses in his B studio. Do not confuse this with a Mackie knock off, as in my opinion this beats the pants off any Mackie I have heard. The pre's are clear and rich, while not being brittle or harsh. I am currently saving up for an API rig and need some cash. This board has british EQ, 12 channels, it has a main left and right, with a stereo sub group, 2 aux, 4 pre's with line and inserts on each, and the rest stereo channels. I have done the majority of my recording through this mixer for the last year although I have not tried to do a mix through it, as I mix in the box. It is mint, and will be packed well. $220 + $15 shipping.

I got two people wanting it right now, but niether has come up with the money, I will let you know if something falls through. Thanks. Ken

I got the money, let me know if i can get it.

how do you think the pres compare to DMP3 or other entry level pres?

You got a picture of it?

Looks like the people are going to take it. Sorry. But to answer your questions. I have used and/or owned the VTB-2, Edirol soundcard with built in pres, Grace 101, Mackie, Focusright (control 24), ART Pro MPA, Joe Meek, and Soundcraft Spirit pres. This thing smoked the Edirol for sure. I Prefered these pres to the VTB-1, and the Joe Meek. The Grace was of similar character but smoother than the Topaz. I do not like the Focusrights as I find them somewhat sterile, and although I love the Pro MPA for many things it is a lot different than these, it is darker, and softer, with more mellowness (in comparison that is). The topaz and Soundcraft were fairly similar in general. I like the Topaz because it is clean and full. I found the Mackie to not have as much body. Things cut through well, and it added a professional feel to my stuff compared to the stuff I upgraded from. I will soon have 4 channels of Old School Audio pres (API style and then some), two channels of RNP, and 2 channels of Pro MPA which will take up my 8 channels that I have available with my Multiface. I am trying to get down to just rack gear and no mixer for sake of space. Anyway if you watch Ebay you can often get good deals because they are not made anymore and not that well known. I paid $250 for mine, which wasn'y too shabby considering the original selling price of around $500. Hope this helped.

alright thanks for the insight, if the deal falls thou let me know.

i just picked one up off ebay for $220. Hope it lives up to the standard you say it does!!

Oh btw does this have insert on the master channel?

thanks

Thats funny!! I know the guy that was bidding against you. If it makes you feel any better he wanted the board because he has heard mine and liked it so much. It does not have any inserts on the overall buss as far as I know, if there is I have not used them. I mainly just used the pre's. Let me know what you think of the board. My opinions are from my experience, and your ear may very but I liked it a lot. Anyway, Let me know.
