I'll add some information...

That is an early M-series, but has the better power supply chassis so that's good, AND it has the rare input meter option which is nice...I think it gives you full input metering for 16 input strips, yes?

Early model but same chassis as the later models and still uses TL074's and 5532/5534 opamps throughout the signal path and has a semi-discrete mic pre circuit...basically the same schematically as the later models just with a different PCB layout.

You say "24 x 16" but there are only 8 groups so technically you should label it a "24 x 8". Is this the recording version with 16 returns in the master section? If so then you'd label it a 24 x 8 x 16, otherwise it looks like you are saying there are 16 groups.

Good luck. I think that is a fair price AFAIC. I've really been happy with how mine sounds (later model MX "live" format 32 x 8 with 8 returns in the master section but has been physically reconfigured to 24 x 8 x 8). Ample headroom on this board with 17V bipolar power rails, nice sounding eq and a good full feature set...individual channel strips for easy field repairs, good quality components and solid build.

Good luck with the sale!

Thanks for the detailed info.... Yes it's the recording console with 16 returns and 16 meters. I'm really gonna' miss the British EQ but I needed more channels. I bought it with a Tascam MS-16 analog deck a few years ago and didn't even need it. Out of curiosity I ran a CD player into it and needless to say my Mackie 24.8 was out of the room that night.... I picked up a Tascam M3700 for my studio.

Yeah...my impression of my Soundtracs MX is that it sounds...nice...not like "oh that's real nice" but like "niiiiiiiiice".

So you've got a 24 x 8 x 16 mixer there with the input metering option. That's worth a look fellas.
