do any of ya'll have experience in recording sountracks/karaoke type back up tracks for singers. i'm trying to make some music for some singers, but i'm not sure what i need to do, such as what instruments to record first..ect.. help would be appreciated

Do you mean cover tunes ?
Can you play em ?
If so, do all tracks but vocals right ??
Or maybe Im not following you.

They are pretty much the same as any other recording endeavor and recording the same way. Vocals and solos are typically done last, so ou just don't do the vocals.

I typically record the drums first- in my case its programming drum machine software. Depending on the song I'll do rythm guitars or bass next. Then bass or rythm, whichever I didn't do first. Last, add and harmony secondary guitar parts and its a rough song.

Solos and vocals fight for what comes next, but I usually record lead then backing vocals. Sounds like you don't have to worry about that. So you'd add solos and instrumental pieces and, voila! you're done.

Take care,
Chris
