I want to be able to record drums at my house but I have the typical neighbor problem plus the problem of my mom not wanting me to do anything that is "unfixable" to the house. So, I got the idea of making a small drum "room" or "box" just big enough to fit a fairly sized drum set inside line it with studio foam, and put this thing in the spare bedroom. The box would pretty much take up the whole room and have double walls and "ceiling" to minimize sound leakage. We would make the box at a seperate location to test it out and make it as "soundproof" as possible, then make a window in the wall between the two rooms (not hard to do, my dad is a contractor) and rebuild the box in the spare room. Does this sound feasable? My goal would basically be to make it sound like I was playing a house stereo system at a fairly loud level from outside. Ive been researching studio construction and I plan on building the box like a "room within a room" inside of another room.
