Ok, I have the Smartloops set, and the included soundfonts that come with them. I still cant seem to find some of the beats I want, although many of the fills will work fine.
I want to make my own using midi, and use the soundfonts so that they sound the same as the beats and fills.
I dont have a clue how to accomplish this, and I dont have a midi controller keyboard right now, but I know that Sonar has some kind of keyboard deal that works off your PC keyboard, and it would work for drums.
How do I make the midi trigger the soundfonts? Just looking for tips/tricks. I'm about to dig into the manual too.
Peace, and thanks.

When you load the SmartLoops kit as a soundfont, your Soundfont synth, (I am presuming LiveSynth Pro), will automatically assign a midi note to represent each of the sounds in the sound font module.

You would then simply arm a track to point at midi channel 10, open the piano roll and hit the appropriate note to trigger the sound loop.

The smartloops folder has a file in it, (from memory), which shows what sounds map to which keys.

Also have a look at creating a custom drum map to make it simpler.

Ciao,
