Well, I had and Alesis board and a Mackie starting out (got me started), then I had a Behringer, then I had this German made Mitec board but it was nothing but headache so when I returned it I ended up with a Spirit studio 16-8-2 (Built in 1992). I have not recorded a band with it yet but I plugged some mics into it tonight and thought "I like this sound better than all the afformentioned boards". The Alesis was non-descript, The Behringer was interesting because it has something going on in the top end that seems so pleasant until you start to mix tracks and then it seems over the top. Was just wondering if what I heard tonight on this Soundcraft will blossom into a good thing when I need to start putting it into full band recording sessions? The Eq seems warm to me and the whole thing seems to have a much more laid back effect on my brain than the Behringer and some of the mackies I have tried. I know there is always lots of debate on these things but I was wondering if anyone had advice/stories of using these Spirit studio boards. Thanks.
