Soundcraft Questions

I'm looking to buy a Soundsraft mixer. Can anyone tell me if the pres on the E series are as good as the M series?

Also, do the inserts on the E series function like Mackie ones where if you put the plug in part way, the signal stays in the channel and if it's all the way in the signal drops out of the channel?

Dont know about the preamps. Probably not the same.

Yes the inserts work the same as on the mackie.
