I have just donated an analogue recording system including a Soundcraft 6000 to a new cultural centre in the Caribbean island of Montserrat.
The desk was working in the UK before it was transported here but seems to have developed a problem on the way.
I've set it up here - just to test a RADAR II I have bought to use with it and there is problem somewhere on the desk/power supply.
All the lights come on on the PS but none of the lights which (I think) shows that all the voltages are being created - I have changed the prime voltage matrix to accept 220 rather than 240) as instructed in the PS manual.
When you switch the PS on, all the channel and the main meters flash but none of the LEDs indicate that the desk is working. The Talk-back mic is working but only really when you turn the main level sky-high. Input signals don't register on meters or in audio via the amp and speakers. The tone generator provides an audible 1k and 10k tone.
I have the original Soundcraft manual which has a lot of electronic diagrams in the back (which mean nothing to me) but no trouble shooting FAQs - FAQs didn't happen when I originally bought the desk.
Please understand that there are is no access to electronics repair stores - I can maybe find an individual who could make a fix for me but I need to know where to point him...
Any ideas?
Thanks in anticipation.
