After having a new backside ripped open for my by a fellow BBS poster, I have signed up for a NoWhereRadio.com account and will be uploading to there from now on. I think I actually saw NoWhereRadio earlier this year and disregarded it because the "news" on the front page was a year old. I have uploaded songs to many sites (Cornerband, MP3, Etc.) believing it wise not to put all the eggs in one basket, so it won't hurt using NoWhereRadio.

I wonder (remember I'm new here) what you dislike about Soundclick and like about NoWhereRadio. Can anyone fill me in? Fire away.

Just FYI... Dragon (David Fielder), the operator/owner of this site, doesn't like threads like this. It's O.T., and it's basically going to stir up sh*t.... promoting unrelated sites gets on his nerves...

Again, just FYI...

That said... check out NWR's forums... from the main page of nowhereradio.com, click "community" (IIRC)... it could be better discussed there.

Arrrgh! I'm seriously not trying to stir up anything and I seriously don't intend to "promote" any particular MP3 site.

Secondly, I don't believe this thread is "unrelated" as it was suggested to me that I use NWR's site for my MP3s. Fine. I'll do that, I just wanted to know reasons people on this BBS like NWR so much.

Dragon, if you're seeing this, please, if I'm out of line please tell me how.

As far as "taking it to NWR's forums," well, the people who have the opinions are here not there.

Sheesh! Anyone not disgusted with me now?
Someone help a newbie, please?

Ha ha. Don't worry about it. Sometimes no matter which way you step, there's a pile of dog crap there. You'll be fine. Actually I tried to check out some of your stuff yesterday, but I can't stream at work. I didn't see an option to download. I think that was you anyway.

As far as Soundclick, I don't like registering to hear something. Even if it's mickey.mouse@disney.com.

Thanks for the kind words.

As far as registration goes, I didn't realize they did that. Every computer I've tested my site on must have already been registered with Soundclick since I've never had to go through that process to hear the songs...the link just goes straight through to Windows Media Player or WinAmp or whatever and starts playing the song. The last thing I want on my site is for someone to have to register to hear the songs.

I noticed NWR has a nicely-priced deep-link option though. Gonna go with that, I think!

I have never had to register at soundclick to listen to music.I just click the links and the song pops up and plays instantly in Windows Media Player.I can also right-click/Save-as without having to register.

MP3.com is the only site that has ever made me register.

I can't stream at work, so I can't comment on that. I can never get to an MP3 link to "save as" - I'm always asked to sign in somewhere earlier in the process. I've tried quite a few. Don't know why our experiences are different.

MP3.com has been a mixed bag - sometimes I'm asked to sign in, sometimes not. I always assumed it was either up to the poster or whether MP3.com felt like being a bitch that day.

soundclick always asks me to sign up when I want to download..
