I am looking to buying a soundcard to go with my J-Station. Is it apporopraite to go for the top end of the market, and spend a fortune, or is it viable jus tto get a less expensive one, like the Sound Blaster Audigy Player, which is what i had in mind? What difference does the more expensive card make compared to a cheaper one?

any advice would be appreciated, thanx

i'd also like an answer.

I use a SoundBlaster AWE64 right now. Wondering if it's worth it to get a soundcard w/ a digital input.

Do a search on this BBS on that topic. There is a cornucopia of info on this subject. :D

Delta Audiophile 2496.....

kills the Audigy and has S/PDIF and analog inputs...you can hook up your J-Station to the S/PDIF and have the analog inputs for whatever else you are recording....in essense with that combo you can record 4 tracks simultaneously (2 stereo tracks)......

the A/D converters are pretty decent and Delta has good driver support....for its price (~$150) it cant be beat.......

I love it when Spin says "cornucopia"! :D

And at the price, Gidge is right about the Delta.
