can somebody tell me when to use midi soundcard and audio card or stereo card?? AND WHEN CONNECTING TO midi keyboard, we use a midi card? and how do we actually can connect those hardware mixers and equasliser to the computer?? in the sense where we can adjust by shifting the faders and knobs instead of using the mouse to fiddle through the computer screen?? is there a driver for the hardware equipments???

Ok, I am going to take a stab at parts of this...

You can get soundcards that handle both MIDI and audio. If you get a soundcard that just handles audio, then you also need a MIDI interface like a Midiman unit.

To connect the keyboard to the computer, you would take the out MIDI line from the keyboard and put it into the MIDI interface (like the Midiman) and then the out of the interface to the computer.

Then, you would also need a soundcard to handle any regular audio inputs you would need. Or like I said, the right soundcard can handle all of these together.

As far as the processor/equalizers go, you can hook them up between the keyboard if you are using audio, or you can hook them up from the computer to the processors, then to the recorder if you are recording to a hard disc. As for MIDI, I don't know if you can hook a processor up to a MIDI line before it gets to the computer. I don't think there will be a need for a driver for hardware processors, only for software drivers.

Ask if you need any other help!

hi Micro, do you have any idea when the sound card stated that it has several digital i/os, and analogue i/Os?
can you also advise me on what are the instruments (whether it is an midi or audio) whether it has to be use on analogu or digital??

1) Delta 1010

2) You will need to re-phrase the question, because I not sure exactly what you are asking. :(

i mean in the sense what are they use for?? they are use for pluging in midi instruments or audio instruments??

If you look up info on the Delta 1010,
you will see that this is one soundcard, but you will be able to connect both regular audio instruments as well as MIDI.
