Soundcard to boost recording quality

Okay, so right now I'm just using my stock sound card and I'm looking to upgrade. I'm a musician looking to do some guitar/vocal recording and I've been browsing through products and have had some recommended to me. I'm only looking to spend at the MAX $200. I want to get some more opinions so I'll give you a list of what people have suggested:

tascam us-122
M-Audio Delta 44 (got the most hits)
EMU 1212M (expensive...but better)
M-audio Firewire Solo

I've used the M Audio Delta 44 and would recommend it.

Who told you that the EMU is better? How would you like to spend too much for a SoundBlaster card? They are babes in the computer pro- recording market. Consider that. Up until now all they've had to show for is The SB and Audigy cards. I'm not disrespecting their Synth tech. They've been doing that for years. The Tascam is a nice unit. I use a Delta but if you want something with built in preamps go with the Tascam.
 
It's hard to suggest the right choice among those alternatives because they are all slightly different. You should probably decide if you are looking for a soundcard or an external interface. And if you select an interface, which type: USB or Firewire.
