Hey guys, I substituted a SB 16 card then disabled the one built in to motherboard on my AMD K-6 350 mgz processor. I have a Monorail from Best Buy. Now I got audio working fine except when I record an audio track, then attempt to record the second track, then the playback sounds super slow motion...unuseable. I then changed to 16 bit 22 sampling rate and the problem goes away. Could this be the soundcard?? System resources are at 92%, everything is scanned and defragged...the computer is only 4 months old.....I dont get it...I want 16 44 sampling...surely that is within the power of this computer.Has anyone else experienced this problem? Im using Powertracks 6.0a Help.. mike

Check your multimedia settings for the sound card. Sounds like you don't have it set to record at "CD Quality". You'll find multimedia in you control panel.

If that's not it, check Powertracks recording settings. Then if you still haven't found the problem I'd suggest contacting PG Music, they're pretty good at finding solutions and get back to you quick.

The only other thing is the AMD processor is too slow. You really should go with an Intel Pentium II at least 400 MHZ if you can afford it, everyone seems to have problems with the AMDs in recording. Buy more RAM too, sounds like you're running short on resources. Hope this helps

Good Luck,
Joe

Thanks, Joe. I found the problem.....it was a SB 16 that was the problem....I had a newer SB card (not the AWE or Live)..installed it and everything kicked off beautifully. I guess cards do make a difference....even lower end SB's. I thot Powertracks was touted to work with a 20.00 card....but that aint necessarily so...as I found out. I will be getting more memory....thanks for the tip!...will buy a Pentium next time too....now..on to recording my first hit song! hahahaha...be talking to you. Im sure this is the first of many issues down the road that I will need help overcoming. Thanks again!!
