1. i was deciding on whether to go with the midiman delta 1010 soundcard or the hoons. c-port. i had thought i had decided on the aardvark but from the response with tech support and driver info i have since narrowed my choices to these two. if anyone has any opinions, suggestions, pros/cons etc. i would appreicate it. also if anyone could suggest where i could purchase one of these for a good price as well i would greatly appreciate.

2. how good is the software that comes with the delta 1010 and should i condsider it when purchasing a soundcard. after reading about the c-port is doesnt seem to come with any software. onc of the reasons i was interested in the aardvark bec they came with cakewalk. i guess my questions is are the included software worty of consideration when making the purchase.

thanks

c-port comes with logic delta - which is a 16 track recorder - probably with midi support , plus an application that allows you to route signal paths visually - check out the website and reviews

the delta comes with logic also.. go with the 1010. overall the recording quality is better. i know, i've had a both

where to purchase

could anyone suggest where to purchase my soundcard. think im finally going with the delta 1010

Buy the Delta...also buy your software seperately! Bayview has the best prices on the Delta. Consider Cool Edit Pro!

i wouldnt put too much weight on included software when choosing a card......the sound of the card is what is important...killer software wont make it sound any better.....

the Delta 1010 is a better card than the c-port, but the c-port has the edge as far as bang for the buck......

but if you are into bang for the buck, look into the Delta 1010lt which you can get for $329.....

now ive made my mind up and im going with the delta.

1. what is the difference between the delta 1010 and the delta 1010lt?

i appreciate all the input everyone has given

thanks

The LT is a scaled-down version. No breakout box. All a/d conversion takes place inside the computer. Only two balanced xlr inputs (the other 8 are rca unbalanced), unbalanced outputs, but it does have two workable preamps (no phantom power).

No frills, really, on this one compared to the regular 1010.

The whole initial reason I got the 1010 in the first place was bec the converters were outside the comp. When aardvark came out with the idea of shielded converters a couple of years ago I thought the whole thing was a load ...and it was with aardvarks cards (I had one for a little while and the unshielded 66 I got after that sounded better). The 1010 though is as clean as converters get in the soundcard domain and thats primarily bec the converters are outside the computer. (The next step would be lucid converters and the genx clock.) So getting the 1010Lt defeats the whole purpose, you may as well go with the c-port.

THANK YOU

I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO GAVE ME INPUT ON THE SOUNDCARD. IM PRETTY SURE I SOUNDED STUPID AT TIMES BUT I APPRECIATE EVERYONE STILL TAKING THE TIME TO HELP.

THANKS
