Soundcard help

I record all my equipment going through my mackie 1402 into a yamaha 2816. I have a very fast pc with sonar XL. I have two questions. 1)I have started using acid and i would like to be able to transfer the beats from acid to my workstation with the best sound quality possible at as cheap as possible. I would also like to be able to transfer the songs i record on the yamaha into sonar for editing and mastering. Im pretty lost on the topic of soundcards and what iwould need to do this, so any help is appreciated.. Also i want a progam to fatten up(master) my final mix, can you suggest any programs?

The 2816 should have digital stereo outs.
The m-audio audiophile would be an inexpensive card with sp/dif ins and outs that would do you well. You can get one for about $150 new.
Sonar should do a good job of PC mixes.
Soundforge would be a good audio editor for effects and mastering.

thanx for the help, is it worth buying soundforge if all i would be using it for is its mastering capabilites?
