I'm trying to figure out what exactly I need in order to get my system up and running. I'll be running Nuendo.
I'm planning to buy the Apogee 16x-AD for conversion into the computer. For my DA, I'm planning on getting 2 channels of Lavry which are AES only.
My questions deal with figuring out how to connect these converters mentioned above to my computer.
Do I need to purchase either an RME or Lynx interface for my external converters to work with?
Can I bypass the RME/Lynx altogether and instead buy the PCI card for the Apogee and then connect the Apogee that way? If so then how would I hook up my Lavry DA?
Is there any sound quality loss if I go the route of the converters into either the RME or Lynx as compared to taking them directly to the computer with the Apogee Firewire card?
Finally, I would like to be able to have a cuemix. I can't tell for sure or not but I don't think the Apogee 16x-AD comes with software for a cuemix. Am I correct in that both the RME and Lynx cards come with software that let's you do this?
Any help at all would be appreciated.
