Hi people - I'm trying to set up a DAW and have done a lot of research into the various bits, and have the PC requirements and software sorted out (at this stage), however I'm still confused as to the soundcard / I/O device issue. So you've some idea what I'm trying to do - I record instrumental music (ie. no vocals) from audio sources only at this stage. I wouldn't know a MIDI if it bit me, but I get the feeling that I'm going to have to learn someday soon. I need at this stage to have a MAX of 4 audio inputs, which puts me into the category of requiring a breakout box of some kind I guess, S/PDIF would be nice, at least for input as I have a Digitech RP which uses that format. Now on the surface the obvious choice is a Midiman Delta 66, except I can't help but feel that I'm going to need MIDI someday and this doesn't have it. All the ones I've found that do either have 300+ inputs/ouputs (which I don't need) and/or cost megabucks. Does anyone know of such device, or am I dreaming? Any and all suggestions would be helpful.
