Is the SBLive! just a noisy sound card? I always have a -20db static on my meter. Do I throw this thing away? Has anybody made any clean recording with this puppy? When I record my guitar into my RP-21d then into SB.. its such a fake sound, not full. Should I shell out for an expensive card? Thanks for the help anybody.

no its not a noisy card. if i open up soundforge i get about a -78dB noise floor. this is, very quite. either you didnt connect it right, or have a broken one, or you have it right next to a microwave. as for guitar. you can never get an electric guitar to sound right directly in. you have to mic an amp.
