Hello Everyone.
I've used a Digitech GNX2 Guitar pedalboard/processor for a year now and have a lot of fun with it. I want to record some basic guitar and perhaps some vocals (it has a Mic in), but I'm not sure how to go about using it. I have no experience whatsoever with recording, and have the line out processor going into the line in on my souncard (using a converter that makes a larger plug much smaller). I can get the sound out of my speakers, and it sounds great, but the only problem is I can't figure out how to record the processor. I've have ACID 2.0 and a version of sounforge that came with my computer. I've recording some things using the mic in and a computer microphone in ACID, so I know it works. I just can't figure out how to tell the program to use the "line in" signal. Any tips with better ways to do this would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone uses ACID and knows what I'm doing wrong could help me out, that would be great as well.
Thanks.

SF should have a driver page that you can select your current soundcard as the default device. Use the line in on card not mic in.

Hey, thanks for the quick response. I am using line in, to answer the question. I have all the right drivers, its just a question of getting software to recognize that I want to record from the "line in" signal of the soundcard. Unless there is a better way to record with the equipment I have.

I cant get to my recording PC right now, but somewhere in SF wether its an recording option page or driver page you need to select the line in from a drop down menu. It may not be set to record from line in. Normally it does not do this auto...you have to tell it. Go thru menus in SF and you should find it.
You wont need any other software to use the line in on your card.
The only thing is SF is not a multitracker. I just use it sometimes for editing.

ACID is a different story...I've never used it so I cant help on that one.

Thanks. I'm searching through the program looking for a way to switch. I don't need two tracks anyway, its just me and my guitar.
