Sound quality issues

Playing my PC88 and the sound quality is good. As soon as I start Pro Tools, the sound quality becomes very bad (tininess). Very noticeable sound degradation. Any body run into something like this before?

There's not really enough information here to say what's going on, but my guess is that you have a feedback loop occurring, resulting in a partial wave cancelling effect.

Agreed. The description sounds like phase cancellation to me, too. Make sure that either hardware play-through or software play-through is enabled, but not both.
