In the swamps of Jersey
I must be doing something wrong here and need help figuring it out. I record to an Alesis HD24 then transfer tracks to Sonar 8 for mixing. Most of the tracks sound like I recorded them except for the bass drum. Sounds fine from the HD24 through my Soundcraft Ghost board. Once I put the track in Sonar, playback sounds more like a carboard box than a bass drum. I'm using a 24/96 M Audio card for the output back into the board for playback. Any suggestions of what I might be doing wrong or using the wrong equipment(sound card?)? Thanks

Odd that it would affect the bass drum only... Have you checked into flipping the phase on that track within Sonar?

Yeah, you got me scratching my head too. I track to an HD24 and transfer into Cakewalk 9 ( 9??? I know). Still, it sounds exactly like the original. Unless the Ghost is imparting some kind of mojo that you don't get ITB. Do you have the capability to transfer tracks from your computer back into the HD24? At least you'd know if the original track has changed or still sounds the same.
