Please help this is frustrating me. When I record cassettes from a stereo onto my computer and make a wav. file, I can play it back on my computer and it comes through both speakers equally. But, when I burn the wav. file onto an audio cd, the sound only comes through one speaker! I am sure it is not my Cd player, but the cd itself. I am recording in the Compaq Wav Maker that came with my computer. The burner is working fine because I have made many cds from ripping songs off of others. I only have trouble with this subject. Any response is appreciated, I am probably making a simple mistake but I hope someone can help before I have to contact professionals. THANKS

Same thing happened to me. I'd suggest you monitor your .wav files <one more time> just before you burn, using a .wav editor like Sound Forge XP, Cool Edit etc. I thought I had already done this, but I wasn't sitting in front of my near-field monitors so across the room they sounded like they were fine. When viewed in a .wav editor, one channel was definitely missing!!

Same thing happened to me...
You were given the right advice, monitor your playback through a software that can monitor your .wav files during playback before burning to disk...I always start with a cd-rw, because once you've burned to a
cd-r, it is permanent and may be a waste of money if the problem arises. If all is well on the cd-rw, you can just make a copy from that.

Thanks both of you for your help. I went to the audio mixer like I have many times before, but this time I realized the problem by using plugging headphones into my computer because I don`t trust my speakers anymore. It was only coming through one channel and is fixed now. Thanks!
